The Ohio Fair Schools Campaign is a coalition of Ohio organizations from rural, urban and suburban areas who are working towards a real solution to the school funding crisis. The Fair Schools Campaign is made up of community organizations, non-profits, faith networks, local congregations, parent organizations, and concerned citizens.
The Ohio Coalition for Equity & Adequacy of School Funding is a council of governments organized in 1990 to secure high quality educational opportunities for all students without diminishing the opportunities for students that currently reside in high capacity districts. The Coalition challenged the constitutionality of the Ohio school funding system by filing the DeRolph case in December 1991. The Coalition is governed by a Steering Committee comprised of superintendents, other school administrators, treasurers and board members.
The mission of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People is to ensure the political, educational, social and economic equality of rights of all persons and to eliminate racial hatred and racial discrimination. From the ballot box to the classroom, the dedicated workers, organizers, and leaders who forged this great organization and maintain its status as a champion of social justice, fought long and hard to ensure that the voices of African Americans would be heard.
The Ohio Education Association (OEA) promotes the cause of public education and improving the quality of teaching and learning. Through more than 150 year history, OEA members have been involved in every struggle and effort to advance the finest of America's dreams: universal, free public education for every child.
The Ohio Federation of Teachers (OFT) represents more than 20,000 members in 54 local unions across the state that include public education employees, higher education faculty and support staff, and public employees. The mission of the American Federation of Teachers, AFL-CIO, is to improve the lives of our members and their families, to give voice to their legitimate professional, economic and social aspirations, to strengthen the institutions in which we work, to improve the quality of the services we provide, to bring together all members to assist and support one another and to promote democracy, human rights and freedom in our union, in our nation and throughout the world.
Communities for Quality Education (CQE) is a national education advocacy organization dedicated to advancing a quality public schools agenda. CQE was founded in 2004 to work with individuals and groups who shared common concerns about the No Child Left Behind Act. CQE's broader focus is to bring together the leading voices for public schools parents, teachers, students, administrators, principals, policy makers and more to advocate for public schools.
